This is one of our family pets being her usual pretty self.

The flash has captured her face really clearly and cleanly, providing the sense of being able to count individual hairs on her face.

Because her face is aligned with the camera angle and essentially her features are flat along that axis, the tendency of the flash to ‘flatten’ depth out of pictures hasn’t been a problem here – indeed it has arguably been a mild advantage.

There are times when a bug can be turned into a feature.
