A few days ago we spent an afternoon/evening in Lucerne, not far away from Stans.

Here are some photos that I took while we were there. It is a city with a deep and rich history.

It is a great place to explore by simply walking around the old streets … discovering things at a pace and on a scale that seems to suit the place (and all that history) well.

From the covered bridge dating back to the 1400’s, through the cobblestone streets, along the cosmopolitan precincts of open air restaurants and bars by the waters edge… and on to modern shops crowded (very very crowded, when we visited) with tourists… it is a city with many layers of stories to tell.
